I officially started my nanodegree program with Udacity in February where I took a course in digital marketing, I must tell you, it wasn’t as easy as I expected. The program requires a laptop and I had none. The emphasis on this was overwhelming and I thought of giving up my new tech career. I am to take safe paced lessons, weekly career sessions from 9pm till 11pm every Thursday via zoom, weekly connect sessions from 6pm till 8pm every Saturday where I am being reminded that I need to possess a laptop to keep up majorly because I had a lot of projects to work on, 11 precisely at regular intervals.
Giving up shouldn’t be an option, I told myself I can’t let this slip out of my fingers, then time to fix my first project came, I still didn’t have a laptop and I was close to the submission deadline, I picked up my phone, downloaded google slide, google docs and Google sheet all these were apps needed for my project to be a success . Navigating through them weren’t easy at all because I had to edit with phone, images and text appeared smaller, copying texts and links were necessary and it was challenging using phone, I battled with these three apps for hours, I became really tired then I dropped the phone and slept off.
I picked it up the next day with a determined mindset, downloaded the project template, edited with google slide, wrote on goggle docs and attached the link on my slide then use the Google sheet to review the spreadsheet that was sent for the project. I worked on the project steadily and completed it after three days, I submitted and it was approved after the third review. Guess what? I used my phone for the second project, third project, fourth project and down to the last project.
The second project needed me to own a website where I can post blog, I downloaded WordPress app on my phone and I made the blog post from it. My third project needed me to download Meta (facebook) Ad manager app which I did on my phone (though I am limited to certain features because it’s on a phone). My forth project was tasking, this wasn’t funny on me, I must confess, I didn’t need to download any app actually but I needed to copy a lot of tiny website links, it’s called SEO Audit, it’s necessary for you to know if the website can rank high on search engine. I copied title tag, Meta description, Alt tags, backlinks, using SEMRush, I copied three website URL that I think will be relevant high traffic sites that I would like to gain backlinks from to help drive to Udacity’s page. Using Google index checker, I checked the number of pages indexed because only indexed pages will drive traffic to the site. I as well checked Udacity’s page speed insight for both desktop and mobile and lastly I evaluated the mobile friendliness of Udacity’s website, all of these and more were done with my phone. While the seventh project needed me to download mailchimp app which I did and moved on too.

I successfully graduated from the digital marketing nanodegree program after four months, June precisely and I can boldly say I am a certified digital marketing specialist, I can help your business to drive traffic, raise awareness, and convert leads into long-term clients via social media marketing, search engine optimization, search engine marketing, facebook and google Ads, email and content marketing. I will evaluate campaigns, run A/B test and conduct SEO Audit on your website.
I look forward to doing business with you
