ASUU strike almost made me give out my most treasured gift. During the strike, I was given a scholarship by my state government to study Digital Marketing at Udacity. That was my introduction to the tech world and I am glad it came in at the right time. I commenced the program by February with all diligence and commitment, from signing in to the website to take classes to attending weekly connect live sessions on Saturdays to get your class questions answered by a session lead and weekly Thursday sessions called career time to get your career questions answered by a Coach, I officially graduated with a Nanodegree certificate in June a month to my birthday. As I sort for organizations to apply for internships, I created a resume for that and created an account on LinkedIn to facilitate my new ambition which is to get a place to intern as a digital marketing specialist. I made sure I apply for as many as I set my eyes on, many organizations do not reply the emails, and I don’t get to hear from them again, but few reply my email with heartbreaking messages saying they are sorry to share that they can’t have me with them as the application they received was much and they have to choose the best and the last category of firms are those who schedule an interview for you, this message lightens my mood actually and then boom, you don’t hear from them again all of these frustrated me but my best friend was always there to encourage me.

We have been friends since 2019 and I must confess that he’s the best guy I have known all my life, he’s caring, lovable, loving, understanding, helpful, intelligent, wise, outstanding and yes, he’s tall, everyone likes that part of him and he does love his height too. When he walked up to me in 2019 for the first time, I noticed there was something unique about him, I couldn’t place my hands on it yet because he was a stranger, but we exchanged contacts and keep up with communication, we met a couple of weeks later and he made his intentions known and I respectfully declined with the excuse that I have someone I am currently dating. It was difficult for him during that period but he had to accept my response and he said he will like us to remain, friends, this young man made it known to me later that I am the First Lady he is retaining as a friend even after I refused to start a relationship with him, he said he doesn’t keep female friends who he once asked out and refused around.

As our friendship blossomed even my real date noticed and said he wasn’t cool with it, I told him not to worry that we are just friends and nothing more, truly that was what we were but our closeness and sincerity to ourselves was out of this world, I think that’s because he was around. After all, my real date was in another State. I was officially granted admission and I had to leave my current place of residence for school which I did, we kept the communication up, he was so supportive, my distance relationship guy cheated on me and we had to part ways, my friend was around to console me, sincerely that was my first heartbreak I was hurt for real because I never for once thought we wouldn’t settle down together maritally. I moved on and my friend asks me out the second time and I humbly declined again with the excuse that someone I can’t get married to, I sincerely can’t date. At that point, with some things my friend do and how he acts, he was good as a friend but I can’t settle down with him maritally, I can’t settle down with someone with all of those excesses for the rest of my life, this shook our friendship, even if I call, he’s so quick to hang up with excuses, he keeps his space, he doesn’t reach out or checks on me as before which affected me big time, I have to be sincere, I missed him, I missed how we were able to tell ourselves anything and everything, I missed how I always tell him I love him, which I sincerely do, I choose him over everything and everyone, I missed how we talk and laugh for long on video calls.

ASUU STRIKE

I messaged him on WhatsApp one of those days and poured out the piece of mind to him, and he did too, he said he doesn’t want to keep up with the friendship because it hurts him the more, he complained that whenever we talk long on calls, it reignites every feeling he has for me, he wants the feeling to die so he can move on since I don’t want to be in a relationship with him. I cried bitterly, he called the next day and apologized for being self-centered and hurtful, he said we can continue with the friendship but I must tell you, it took time for that tangible love to be felt. Then boom, ASUU went on strike, I came home, our friendship skyrocketed, we meant a lot to each other, we see often, he assisted with his time, data, and laptop, he added color to my life with his presence, his love overwhelmed me we kissed one day and he asked me out again, I accepted because my influence in his life has changed some of the things he does and how he does them, giving him a chance won’t be bad, during one of the days I paid him a visit, I was so into him and it looked as though I wanted sex for the very first time, he said he doesn’t want it yet that I have waited this long to have sex I can hold on a bit till marriage before I give it out, the same way it mean a lot to me is the same way it means a lot to him. He said I should cool my blood down and not be in a rush, if not after the 5 minutes of pleasure, I will regret giving it out. I just hissed, took a cold shower, and avoided him but deep down I was glad he passed the test because I don’t think my body knows what it wants, I haven’t had sex before and my body acts dead.
After 8 months of being at home, we’ve dated for 5 months and I am glad I didn’t lose my most treasured gift as a result of the strike.

As a teenager, I’ve always loved business and I decided I was going to study business administration when admitted into a higher institution of learning, which I later did. I was admitted into Grace polytechnic in 2014 to study my dream course. When I graduated as the best student in my department, I expected companies to employ me to be their administrator but none did. I was on the verge of giving up when ideas popped into my head, you could be your boss, you could just start your own business, you can manage it well, you can do this, you are such a wonderful business administrator and then I started my own business. I made snacks, branded them, and supplied them to shops in the neighborhood. The business grew because more shops started placing orders. I was even more excited when I decided to further my education as I thought I would be relocating to a new environment where the patronage will skyrocket since it’s going to be a student-dominated area. I relocated in January 2020 with a bigger dream as even major supermarkets love my brand and they patronize me. My snacks in jars look beautiful to behold on their shelf. Everything seems to be going well as orders from shops grew steadily too.

The thought of expanding my business crossed my mind. As much as I love reading, I don’t think I have read a newspaper for the past 11 years, the last time I picked a magazine to read was about 5 years ago. If not for traffic, I don’t think I will ever look up to observe a billboard funny enough, these are the mediums for advertising. These are ways businesses create awareness about their product or service to the general public. If I want to advertise my business am I going to use these mediums too? I asked myself, what if there are people like me who have not read a newspaper or magazine in a long while too? How do I make my business known to a large set of people?.
I can’t even spend up to an hour in my living room watching TV but I can spend straight 6 good hours on my phone without getting up to even eat or use the washroom and then I made up my mind to make sure what I do and what I offer appears on everyone’s phone. Yes, I just need to start popping up on people’s phones if I must be known, if my business must be visible and if my snacks must be seen.

Since I know the whole world today has moved its attention to the digital medium. We use the internet for the simplest of things to the most complex ones. So to effectively market my product and service, I decided to take a course on digital marketing because Digital marketing is an act of using a variety of platforms to enhance your business like Google ads, video ads, internet marketing, blogging, Media ads, app install initiatives, Youtube ads, and content marketing on Facebook, Twitter, Wikipedia, Snapchat, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and other sites.
I enrolled for the course, digital marketing under Udacity, one of the best edutech institutions in the world. The self-paced classes were great, I made sure I spent 10 hours per week on the course where I learned content creation and marketing, copywriting, How to run Facebook and Instagram Ads, Google display Ads, social media marketing and management, SEO- Search engine optimization, SEM- Search engine marketing, email marketing and more. I carried out real world projects on how to define my marketing objective, state KPIs; Key performance indicators, state my value proposition, define my customer persona, draft my target persona and getting an empathy map in the first project. In the second project, I created a blog post using Pixar’s framework, I used Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn to promote my blog. In the third project, I evaluated a Facebook campaign which had three ads, I stated the best performing ad and how I would optimize the campaign. In the fourth project, I conducted on-site, off-site and technical SEO Audit on Udacity’s website. Using Moz keyword explorer tool, I searched for 5 head and tail keywords each with great potential that can be used to create blog post for the website. They are; Digital skills, Digital marketing, Online course, Tech skill, Online Marketing, Social Media ads, Digital marketing course, Digital marketing certification, Digital marketing courses, and social media management. I gave a revised suggestion on a page’s title tag, meta description and 5 alt tags. Using portent content idea generator, I generated three topics using the keywords I researched and write a short blog on them. I generated 3 backlinks to the website and their domain authority which were 99, 98, and 97 respectively. Using SEMRush, I strategized a link-building campaign by identifying 3 websites that would be relevant and high-traffic sites that I would like to gain backlinks from to help drive traffic to Udacity’s page. Using Google index checker, I checked the page index of Udacity’s website, I as well evaluated the page speed for mobile and desktop. I checked the mobile-friendliness too. I rounded up the project by giving recommendations on how to make sure the website rank first on google SERP. They are; optimizing images, making website mobile friendly and writing a blog post that contains keywords with the highest potential. In the fifth project, evaluated the Google ads campaign, I evaluated at the ad group level, at the ad level, and the keyword level. I provided recommendations on how best to carry out the campaign next time. In the sixth project, I evaluated 3 display campaigns, I calculated their ROI and they were all positive, I gave three suggestions each on how to optimize the campaigns, I stated the campaign which performed best and I gave recommendations on how to do to make the campaigns perform even better. In the seventh project, I created content plan for sending 3 emails, and drafted out a calendar and plan, using MailChimp, I drafted the email and sent them. I calculated the open rate, CTR, and conversion rate.

Digital marketing Certification

I started the class in February and ended it in June 2022 when I got certified. it was awesome as the weekly connect sessions were held every Saturday from 6 pm till 8 pm where I had the privilege of speaking with a session lead, Okechukwu Onu, a very good teacher who is ready to pour out himself, he was of huge support, I must admit and we had a weekly career session held on zoom as well every Thursday by 9 pm to 11 pm, this was headed by another digital marketing expert, Yomi Samson, a great guy who was helpful and his sessions with us were impactful. Another beautiful aspect of a digital marketing course is that You can start a career immediately if you’re Equipped with a digital marketing master’s course from a reputed institute like Udacity. you don’t have to wait for potential employers and job opportunities to start your career in the field. Since you are now proficient in skills that require the expertise of digital marketing you can very well start your website or even your agency. I have not stopped learning, I am currently enrolled in Digigirls, an organization that has decided to give women a voice in the tech world. It’s a scholarship I received from the UK government in Nigeria, the class started with the basics of computer, knowledge on cybersecurity, a class taught by sisi nerd herself, Confidence Staveley, communication and relational skills before we were given the option of choosing a course of our choice amongst these options, graphic design, data analysis, social media management and digital marketing. Trust me to choose digital marketing! I am currently studying the same digital marketing course with Digigirls.

It’s a good day to be proud of the progress I have made!. My decision to start a career in tech, days when it seems overwhelming, but I showed up; The dedication to keep going despite the challenges, are all worth celebrating. I am endlessly creating myself. Yes! I am absolutely proud of the journey. Today and everyday is a good day to be kind to myself and celebrate my journey. Gloria is a banker who’s doing well for herself as a young lady. She is a 34 years old beautiful, elegant, classy and a hardworking career lady. She is 5 feet 4 inches tall, light skinned, a bit busty, with flat tummy and hips standing perfectly on her. When Gloria graduated from the university with first class in accounting, we already knew she was going to make exploit after school. Gloria took a professional examination with Institute of chartered accountants in Nigeria (ICAN) and passed the examination in just one sitting. She proceeded with her masters and came out in flying colors yet again. Everyone connected to her was proud of her. She has set a huge standard for herself. She has attained heights that even her peers aren’t close to. Life seems to be fair on her and she felt contented not until she realized there’s something missing in her life and that’s a man who is ready to be in a serious relationship with her. Initially, no one was approaching her at all because they think she appears too classy, she has everything, she might not be submissive, she might use them as puppet, she does not look like their class, her taste is high, her cars are expensive, what if she looks down on me, what if she’s not approachable, what if she doesn’t give me listening ears, infact the list is endless. It became more serious when she clocked 30, her mother got fully involved and forced her to a so – called spiritual place where they diagnosed she’s possessed and the spirit within her is not allowing men come close to her, inquires were made on how to get it rectified and the spiritualist said by flogging her while she is stark naked, she refused vehemently but her mother persuaded her, the spiritualist flogged the hell out of her while she wept bitterly and screamed out loud on the top of her voice, he as well promised that in two weeks, men will flood her life and she will be confused on whom to settle down with. She had scars all over her body and it even took two months to totally heal off and her condition was still the same. Her mother did not relent and still forced her to another spiritualist she was introduced to and this one requested for sacrifice to appease the so called spirit inside of her that does not want men to come close to her. She paid one million naira to the spiritualist account, they were asked to return in a week time for the sacrifice proper, which they did return but to their greatest shock, they met an empty room, the spiritualist took off with their money to start a better life, I guess, they were confused, devastated, bitter and angry, they had to return home with the so called spirit still inside of her. Her mother wouldn’t give up and she had to continue going with her till she clocked 32 and realized things cannot keep up this way she either ends it or it ends her life because it already seem like it is restricting her airflow, enough is enough she told herself and she determined not to go anywhere else anymore with her mother. She focused more on herself, she acquired more skills, she branded herself, she developed her weaknesses, she managed her time excellently and she became even more sophisticated.

Why should I become less of myself because of marriage? Why can’t I be who I want to be because of marriage? Why should I stop expressing myself all in the name of marriage? Is getting married supposed to limit me? All these were the questions she asked herself and thought of moving on with her life while she awaits her life partner. On her 34th birthday, she walked into a grocery shop to get household items where she stumbled on her long time course mate in the university, they were both happy to see themselves, they shared pleasantries and decided to have lunch. Her coursemate own the grocery shop actually so leaving the place to reconnect with an old time pal wasn’t a problem, they talked at length and landed on household matters. Her course mate was surprised she wasn’t married. she was consoled and motivated by her coursemate when she almost broke down in tears as she explained all she has been through,they took their lunch in silence while her coursemate kept stealing glances at her at regular intervals and smiling till they both exchanged contact to keep in touch and bid each other farewell. Truly they kept in touch, the communication was constant, their bound grew,they were able to tell each other anything even things that should be kept secret, the relationship blossomed and her coursemate was able to introduce a platform to her, a dating app where she can register and get her life partner from, she was skeptical at first but since her coursemate said that was the exact app that she got her husband from she decided to try it out because her coursemate’s husband is more like an angel, he is friendly, outspoken, handsome and also in her line of profession so they vibe well and she has always secretly wished her husband to be like her coursemate’s husband so using same app to get same man won’t be a bad idea after all, she thought.

While registering, she wanted to fill in fake information about herself since she doesn’t want to repeat same mistake of uploading her life that physically hasn’t been accepted, online. She confided in her coursemate, who talked her out of it. Be yourself! You’re a great lady! Whoever wants to love you should do that because of who you are and not what you are or what you have!. There’s still real love forget about those guys who came before just for what they could get, there is someone genuine for you, there is a special someone out there on that app for you, I know it and I believe it. She smiled, they hugged and she proceeded with her registration. Immediately, few men started coming in, she viewed their profiles, she was cool with one and she needed to financially upgrade to be able to reply his chat, she did that immediately and they started chatting, they got to know themselves better, their friendship grew and they started dating, guess what? They will be getting married on her 35th birthday.

I love teaching, I’ve been doing this since 2014 when i rounded up my secondary education. I learnt how to be extremely patient with children because I was employed to teach nursery pupils that year and then i grew in rank by moving to being a primary school teacher and even a secondary school teacher.

I possess the four basic communication skills. I am proactive,creative, innovative, crazytive 😂, talkative and every other tive word you can think of.
